Sour lemon, or Lemon for short, is the fruit of the lemon tree and is made from citrus fruits. Although the skin and flesh of lemons are used especially in cooking, lemons are grown mostly because of their juice. Lemons contain a lot of citric acid, which makes them taste sour. Lemon is used in traditional medicine confectionery and as a condiment. India is the largest producer of lemons with more than 16% of world production, followed by Mexico, Argentina and Spain. There are different types of lemons, such as sweet lemon, sour lemon, Amani lemon, Shirazi lemon, quat lemon and lychee lemon.
